The Custom Cages AC Cobra Historic T45 is a Weld-In Roll Cage suitable for use in multiple motorsport events such as Rallycross, Rallying, Sprints, and more. Your roll cage will arrive shrink wrapped in durable black plastic and will include:
- CNC formed tubes for the main hoop, A pillar hoops etc with square and profiled ends are necessary.
- Straight tubes with profiled ends ready for welding into place.
- Set of footplates.
- Check list (every tube has an identifying sticker) so you can be sure you have a complete kit (we will have already have checked that you have the right tubes twice before the kit is packed).
- Instructions sheet.
- CD showing the fully fitted roll cage.
Historic (Weld-in) Roll Cages:
- Traditionally these would be a ‘6-point’ design and significantly simpler than most ‘multi-point’ cages.
- Keeping to the spirit of the period is the key to most of the designs, which is why we try to replicate the original geometry.
- Current FIA regulations (Appendix K) allow for effectively full modern cages, but these often don’t reflect the designs of the day.
- Weld-in cages are perfectly acceptable and legal, although the number of fixings and mounting points is restricted.
